Job Description

Position Overview: This role will assist in managing the day-today operations of the facility according to divisional objectives, to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Include but are not limited to 

  • Assist in managing the workforce through responsible training and clear job assignment and explanation 

  • Build relationships with the customer base and key suppliers 

  • Assist in establishing and implementing short-term goals that are consistent with long range plans for growth in operation, including facility, equipment, and personnel 

  • Communicate with manager and utilize additional resources (other branch managers, credit, marketing, human resources, etc.) to maximize profitability 

  • Maintain a safe working environment 

  • Ensure that department facilities and equipment meet all federal, state, and OSHA regulations 

  • Help maintain inventories to ensure service with minimum delivery delays, while maintaining inventory turn goals 

  • Assist with handling tasks for assigned accounts 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Must understand basic business principals of inventory management and personnel supervision 

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills 

  • Possess a class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement and category 1A applicators license, or ability to obtain 

  • Excellent customer relations and service skills 

  • Experience leading safety and business improvement strategies. 

  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 

  • Must be a team player and enjoy the effort necessary to contribute to a successful operation and company.

  • Ability and desire to solve problems in the fields of our customers. 

  • Possess a relative knowledge of crop diagnostics, crop protection, seed and fertility.

  • Farming experience helpful.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy. 

  • Must obtain and maintain required state commercial applicator certification as required by state. 

  • Minimum Class B with Hazmat endorsement.
