The role is preferably based in Melbourne or Sydney, with flexibility to be based in other Australian states and hybrid working (2 days per week in office). This is a fixed-term opportunity with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.
In this role, you will work closely with remediation, operational, and technical teams to uncover insights, define impacted customer cohorts, and ensure fair and accurate remediation outcomes. You will play a key role in translating complex business problems into clear data solutions that directly support customer rectification efforts.
Reporting to the Remediation Data and Automation Manager, you will operate within a fast-paced, agile environment across multiple concurrent remediation initiatives, helping ensure customers are treated fairly and outcomes are delivered efficiently and transparently.

The Opportunity
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality data analysis, insight generation, and remediation support across critical customer remediation programs.
You will:
Partner with business and technical SMEs to deeply understand remediation activities, including products, systems, and underlying data structures
Translate business rules into clear, accurate data logic and write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from source systems
Identify impacted customer cohorts and ensure remediation scope is accurate, complete, and defensible
Design and build data extraction, validation, and analysis processes to support remediation delivery and reporting
Join and synthesise data from multiple systems into consolidated datasets for analysis and decision-making
Support remediation project teams with data analysis, scenario testing, and insights to guide remediation methodology
Perform quality assurance on data outputs and calculations to ensure accuracy and consistency
Ensure all data rules, logic, and processes are clearly documented and reproducible
Identify risks, data issues, and inconsistencies, and proactively drive resolution
Contribute to continuous improvement of remediation data capability, tools, and processes across the function

Enterprise Impact & Accountability
This role plays a key part in ensuring Bupa delivers fair, accurate, and efficient remediation outcomes for customers.
Success in this role will be measured by:

Strength of documentation and reproducibility of analytical processes
Contribution to uplift in remediation capability and data practices

About You
You are a strong analytical thinker who is confident working with complex data environments and translating business problems into clear, structured data solutions. You are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and able to connect data insights to meaningful customer and business outcomes.
You will bring:
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, ideally within remediation, customer transformation, or complex regulatory/operational environments
Strong SQL skills with experience extracting and analysing data from large, complex datasets
Ability to translate business rules into structured, testable data logic
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and explain “the story behind the numbers”
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and explain complex concepts in simple terms
Confidence working independently while collaborating across technical and business teams
Experience working in Agile environments and managing multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and quality
Highly regarded:
Experience in health insurance or regulated industries
Exposure to remediation programs or customer rectification initiatives
Experience with tools such as SAS, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms
Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Data, Analytics, or related field
