Purchasing Assistant – Lewiston

Sofidel America is currently seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team at our Lewiston,ID facility. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is local to the area and seeking a long-term opportunity in a stable, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the purchasing process for assigned categories

of goods, aiming to generate value for the business and contribute to operational efficiency

in alignment with company strategies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Negotiate purchasing terms with suppliers to meet internal stakeholder expectations and cost objectives.
  •  Manage procurement for assigned categories based on technical specifications and business needs.
  •  Support the development of economies of scale and supplier relationship optimization.
  •  Participate in the supplier selection and evaluation process.
  •  Monitor supplier compliance with company and operational requirements.
  •  Implement purchasing best practices to drive efficiency and consistency.
  •  Collaborate with the Sofidel America Purchasing Department and cross-functional teams to ensure effective   purchasing operations.
  •  Promote and uphold Sofidel’s safety-first culture across all processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management preferred, or a related field (or equivalent business experience).  
  • 1+ years of purchasing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Highly organized and capable of multitasking and working independently.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation (internal and external).
