The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing engineering operations, including project execution, technical development, and cross-functional collaboration to support manufacturing and product innovation. Oversees quality assurance, compliance, and strategic planning while fostering team development and continuous improvement across processes, equipment, and systems.
Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management
- Manage and delegate tasks within the engineering team, ensuring balanced workloads.
- Set direction for technical and maintenance teams.
- Utilize each engineer in projects and tasks that match their strengths.
- Coordinate development and camaraderie across departments.
- Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.
- Project & Process Management
- Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
- Monitor progress against schedules and budgets; allocate resources as needed.
- Manage capital projects and lead R&D initiatives for new products and processes.
- Support continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and performance.
- Technical Development & Innovation
- Develop equipment and systems to support manufacturing processes.
- Participate in product, process, equipment, and method improvements.
- Ensure preventative maintenance plans are in place.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with production, quality, purchasing, and sales teams to maintain supply and launch new products.
- Serve as the technical expert on supply and production issues.
- Handle internal and external inquiries professionally.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Act as, or delegates ISO 9000 and AS9100 management representative
- Assess product specifications and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Maintain documentation and control procedures.
- Liaise with customer auditors and ensure corrective actions, compliance and follow up.
- Support compliance with government standards and legislation.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Write technical and management system reports.
- Prepare clear internal and external explanatory documents.
- Strategic Planning & Policy Development
- Formulate and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for the business unit.
- Establish service standards for customers or clients.
- Training & Development
- Identify and deliver relevant quality-related training.
- Identify and provide career development and training opportunities to engineering team.
- Train Production Operators on process or machine specifications.
- Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least five years progressively more responsible experience
- A professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to that ordinarily acquired by completing a four-year baccalaureate program.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
