Position Summary
The Project Manager (PM) will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a federal building modernization project for a 59,824 GSF facility supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The PM is responsible for delivering the project on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contract requirements, codes, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall project leadership from pre-construction through closeout
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget in accordance with contract requirements
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, design teams, contractors, and subcontractors
- Oversee implementation of Design-Bid-Build delivery processes
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
- Manage change orders, cost estimates, and contract modifications
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including safety standards
- Monitor construction progress and ensure quality control procedures are followed
- Lead project meetings and provide regular status reports to stakeholders
- Mitigate risks and resolve project issues proactively
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of combined experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or business management
- At least 6 years of experience managing projects of similar size, scope, and complexity
- Demonstrated experience with federal or large-scale commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Design-Bid-Build project delivery
- Proven experience managing projects valued at $10M or greater
- Experience with full building renovations and commissioning processes preferred
- Familiarity with historic preservation projects is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience with cost estimating, material takeoffs, and negotiating contract changes
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards and construction safety practices
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and federal standards (including ABAAS)
Physical Requirements
The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 1/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 2/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 2/3 of the day.
This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 70 pounds on an infrequent basis. The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary.
