Responsible for identifying, implementing and supervising EHS activities while strengthening overall site performance. Position works to ensure compliance with National, State and local regulations.
- Manage air, wastewater and hazardous waste programs to assure compliance with environmental regulations and to control compliance costs.
- Support and reinforce Life Safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work and Confined Space. Identify hazardous workplace conditions, perform and document job hazard/risks analyses.
- Work to create a culture that puts safety first, promotes interest in, and awareness of health, safety, environmental, and security issues at all levels.
- Provide processes, procedures and training for personnel that ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing environmental, safety, and health.
- Responsible for the timely preparation, submittal, and maintenance of required records, permits, and reports, in accordance with established guidelines by local, state, and federal agencies and corporate guidelines.
- Assist plant operations and Maintenance in process troubleshooting, project reviews, management of change, PHA, PSSR, incident investigations and other areas
- Maintain emergency response plans, training, and equipment to ensure safe operations and readiness to protect employees and facilities.
- Ability to travel <10% of time
- Demonstrates understanding of federal and state laws associated with environmental and safety
- Apply strong detailed analytical skills to effectively solve problems
- Demonstrates excellent written, oral and interpersonal talents, and effective negotiation skills
- Demonstrates effective computer skills (MS Office suite)

- Plant process improvement experience is a plus
Education & Experience
- BS Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical or Environmental Engineering. Certified Safety Professional is a plus
