The Supervisor, Data & Integrations plans for, designs, and oversees the flow of data across systems and applications within Seaspan Marine Group’s (SMG) IT landscape. They are responsible for managing a team of data professionals and developers to ensure efficient and effective data ingestion, processing, integration, and delivery in the form of various data products that provide insight and support to key business processes. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering and data management principles, proficiency in data integration and transformation technologies, and strong leadership skills to drive successful outcomes.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of data engineering and integration professionals, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and growth‑oriented culture.
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery of a modern cloud data platform, including architecture, implementation, operations, and continuous improvement within SMG’s Azure environment.
- Design and deliver secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient data solutions that are automated, well‑monitored, and built with strong data quality, governance, and reliability practices.
- Establish and champion CI/CD standards for data pipelines and integrations, enabling consistent deployment, testing, version control, and operational monitoring.
- Provide technical leadership and hands‑on guidance on data integration patterns, transformation approaches, and tooling to support evolving business and advanced analytical needs.
- Lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of data platform and integration initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic objectives.
- Proactively manage delivery risks and operational issues by tracking project milestones, identifying dependencies.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into well‑designed data products and actionable insights that drive decision‑making and desired business outcomes.
- Own the data product and integration development roadmap, including intake, prioritization, and governance of requests to balance demand, capacity, and value created.
- Communicate progress, outcomes, and performance metrics clearly to leadership, providing transparency into delivery status, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data platform roles, including responsibility for designing, building, and operating enterprise‑scale data solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, or mentoring technical teams, with a focus on delivery excellence and professional development.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture and integration patterns, including APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, in Azure‑based data platforms.
- Hands‑on experience designing and supporting reliable, secure, and scalable application and system interfaces in production environments.
- Proven ability to lead solution design and delivery, collaborate with vendors and cross‑functional stakeholders, and translate business needs into effective data solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of modern project delivery practices, including agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog management, and the use of Azure DevOps and version‑control tools to support reliable, transparent delivery.
- Solid knowledge of Azure data engineering components such as Data Lake/Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric services.
- Demonstrated ability to set up, configure, and maintain core components of an Azure data platform, including environments, pipelines, storage, and supporting services, in organizations where responsibilities are not fully segmented across specialized teams.
- Practical experience managing access controls, permissions, and security configurations within Azure data platforms and supporting infrastructure, ensuring appropriate access, compliance, and operational stability.
- Strong hands‑on capability in Python‑based data engineering, including PySpark, Pandas, and SQL/T‑SQL, for building, optimizing, and supporting data pipelines and data transformations.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration and middleware technologies such as Azure Logic Apps, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), API‑based integrations, or comparable platforms.
- Experience enabling advanced analytics or machine learning solutions within Azure AI Foundry is considered an asset.
- A collaborative, self‑driven leader who builds high‑performing teams through coaching, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, and who can guide teams through platform, process, and systems change.
- Strong communication, prioritization, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and delegation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and business audiences.

The estimated salary for this position is $109,800 - $134,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
