Job Description

Summary


This position serves as the Junior High Head Football Coach and Middle School Social Studies Teacher. In addition to primary responsibilities, the role includes assisting with the Senior High Football program and Track program. The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, and a commitment to student development both academically and athletically.


Primary Responsibilities


Social Studies Teacher



  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Social Studies.

  • Develop lesson plans that reflect best practices and district curriculum.

  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments.

  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance.

  • Establish a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic growth.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

  • Participate in professional development and collaborative team meetings.


Junior High Head Football Coach



  • Serve as the head coach for the junior high football program.

  • Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and game strategies.

  • Develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork among student-athletes.

  • Supervise assistant coaches and coordinate program expectations.

  • Ensure compliance with district and athletic association policies.

  • Manage equipment, uniforms, and inventory.

  • Communicate with parents, players, and administration.

  • Promote safety and proper conditioning of athletes.


Additional Coaching Responsibilities: Assistant Senior High Football and Track Assistant



  • Assist the head high school football coach with practices, game preparation, and strategy.

  • Assist the head track coach with daily practices and meet preparation.

  • Support player development and skill progression.

  • Help with film breakdown, scouting, and game planning.

  • Supervise athletes during practices, games, and travel.

  • Reinforce program expectations and team culture.

  • Assist with equipment and logistical needs.

  • Help supervise practices, meets, and travel.

  • Support conditioning, training programs, and athlete safety.

  • Assist with meet organization and equipment management.


Additional Duties



  • Fulfill all teaching and coaching duties as assigned by administration.

  • Maintain required certifications and professional licensure.

  • Support school initiatives, events, and extracurricular activities.

  • Serve as a positive role model for students.

  • Uphold district policies and ethical standards.


Qualifications



  • Valid teaching license with Social Studies certification (or ability to obtain).

  • Coaching experience preferred, particularly in football and/or track.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • Knowledge of athletic rules, safety standards, and program management.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.

  • Ability to demonstrate athletic techniques.

  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.


Work Schedule



  • Extended contract with additional time allocated for practices, games, meets, and off-season responsibilities.


Evaluation


Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies for both teaching and coaching responsibilities.
