Director of Social Services

Department: View Behavioral Health Child, Colton 
Reports to: Clinical Director

Pay: Depends on experience

Facility Overview – View Behavioral Health Child, Colton 
View Behavioral Health (VBH) Child, is a behavioral health campus providing acute psychiatric care and crisis stabilization services. Our Child & Adolescent program offers a safe, structured environment focused on stabilization, evidence-based treatment, and family-centered care. As we expand, the campus will include adult services, supporting a full continuum of care for the communities we serve.


Position Summary

The Director of Social Services oversees all psychosocial services, discharge planning, and care coordination. This role ensures patients and families receive comprehensive support throughout treatment and transition planning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise social workers and case management staff
  • Oversee discharge planning, aftercare coordination, andutilizationreview collaboration
  • Ensuretimelycompletion of psychosocial assessments and documentation
  • Collaborate with community partners, schools, and outpatient providers
  • Support family engagement and education processes
  • Monitor LOS, barriers to discharge, and placement outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with documentation and regulatory standards
  • Assistwith crisis intervention and patient advocacy

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work
  • Active California LCSW preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in behavioral health, including supervisory experience
  • Experience with child/adolescent populations strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated sound professional judgment; clinical judgment where applicable to licensure/role.
  • Proficiencyin the use of computers and standard keyboard functions for data entry and electronic documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Current CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within90 daysof employment 
  • Demonstrate understanding andcompliancewith Patients' Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols.
