Overview
Influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with Barbosa Cabinets Injury and Illness Prevention Program and established protocol and maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily reporting and coordination with Operations Leadership and Plant Managers.
- Maintaining OSHA 300 Log and posting OSHA 300A annually.
- Assists HR with new hire onboarding process through presentation, videos and document signing.
- Assists employees in Medcor, Concentra Authorization, DWC, return to work program post accident.
- Begins accident investigation form and then follows up with manager/supervisor on the 24-hour completion of that form.
- Assists HR in accommodation letters post FMLA return.
- Leads recycling program for proper trash diversion and recycling of wood and other recyclables.
- Communicates with Tracy Delta Disposal, DPS, Modesto Junk and World Oil for designated pick ups.
- Leads forklift and red cross certification on annual intervals.
- Schedules and completes PFT, Fit Testing and Hearing Testing annually with outside firm.
- Completes new hire fit testing.
- Monthly fire and emergency equipment inspections.
- Gathering documentation, photos and accident reports for vehicle accident reporting to Travelers.
- SPCC monthly inspections for Tracy.
- Weekly Hazardous Waste inspections for both locations.
- Hosts, drafts agenda and takes minutes for monthly Safety Committee Meeting.
- Ensures all risk item identified are completed.
- Daily floor walks through different departments at both locations and interactions with employees to complete JHAs.
- Coordination with maintenance department for hazard correction post inspection.
- Assisting managers with COVID-19 protocols.
- Communicates with Shea Homes post Safety Mojo violations or other field issues.
- Assists purchasing in passing our PPE.
- Maintains SR Max Program with PPE Requisition Form.
- Maintains breakroom TV communications through PowerPoint updates.
- Supports Human Resource efforts to ensure compliance with corporate EHS program expectations and all applicable federal and state laws.
- Identifies and informs management of compliance issues, safety risks and opportunities for improvement through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.
- Follow-up with managers, supervisors, employees and contractors to resolve risk and related issues.
- Leads, coordinates, and conducts post-accident investigations and procedures (drug screens, accident reports, etc.)
- Assist with and develop risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Safety Analysis).
- Manages data files as necessary.
- Monitors, provides, or coordinates required safety training for all employees, including Plant and Field personnel.
- Ensuring all monthly trainings are turned in by leads from departments of both locations.
- Sending out reports for weekly trainings that need to be completed by field staff.
Travel Expectations
- Occasional field travel to audit job sites, employees and subcontractors.
- Required one day a week at a minimum in Lathrop facility.
Education and Experience
- Experience in lieu of education will be considered. Associate degree preferred; Environmental safety and health; Safety or environmental management or Safety Environmental Science.
- Bilingual – English / Spanish preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical thinking, complex problem solving, physical stamina, detail oriented and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with 5S and Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- DOT certification/Method 22 to be completed onsite.
