Job Description

Autism Center of Excellence is hiring a Behavior Technician (BT) to join our team supporting pediatric clients in Colonial Heights, VA.

Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children ages 2–14 receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role focuses on helping children develop communication, social, and daily living skills through structured, evidence-based therapy.

This position is ideal for individuals interested in psychology, education, behavioral health, or pediatric therapy who want meaningful hands-on experience working with children.

Schedule

Monday–Friday
Minimum availability required: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Additional hours may be available based on client needs and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to pediatric clients
• Implement treatment plans developed by supervising BCBAs
• Support communication, social, and daily living skill development
• Collect and document behavioral data during sessions
• Follow behavior intervention and safety plans
• Collaborate with supervising clinicians and caregivers
• Maintain professional and timely documentation

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Certification

• RBT certification preferred but not required
• BT candidates will receive paid training toward RBT certification

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred
• Experience in ABA, childcare, education, or behavioral health is a plus
• Reliable transportation
• Professional, dependable, and compassionate
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
