Job Description

We are Vista Innovative Solutions, LLC (VIS), we are a government contracting and consulting firm supporting federal agencies and military installations across the nation. VIS is seeking an Access Control Specialist to support the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).

 

What You'll Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and issue badges for new employees, visitors, and other authorized personnel. Reissue badges to current employees as needed.
  • Issue and maintain accountability for all identification cards, badges, credentials, and passes for assigned employees and visitors daily. Input and update both a computer-based system and a paper copy to track the accountability of all controlled badges and credentials issued, stored, or destroyed. Conduct routine and special inventories of controlled badges and credentials (blank, issued, destroyed, and returned) as outlined by Army Regulation 190-13 and local procedures.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and operate specialized security software daily, which includes issuing and creating security badges and visitor badges; granting additional levels of access to employees as approved by S2 procedures; troubleshooting issues employees may have with their badges or access; and updating access following local processes.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and operate the security key system software, which includes creating, programming, and issuing keys and fobs to new employees; informing them of their responsibilities concerning the operation and safeguarding of keys and fobs; troubleshooting lock and user problems that may arise; issuing daily keys to visitors; and making changes to the security key system (e.g., renaming or adding cylinders and openings).
  • Assist the key control officer (on a monthly, semi-annual, or as-needed basis) by inventorying all Institute keys and maintaining various key logs in accordance with Army Regulation 190-51 and local procedures.
  • Maintain, inventory, and issue all furniture keys for USAMRICD.

 

What You Bring:

Requirements:

  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. 
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required. 
  • The individual must be a U.S. citizen. 
  • It is important to feel comfortable leaving one’s mobile device at home or in the car, as the designated work location is within a restricted mobile communications zone. 
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience is needed.
