Job Description:

The Mailroom & Shipping Clerk is responsible for supporting daily mailroom, shipping, receiving, and administrative operations. This role ensures accurate processing, delivery, and tracking of mail and packages, while maintaining a high level of organization, confidentiality, and customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Receive, open, sort, weigh, stamp, and prepare mail and packages for shipment  

  • Distribute mail and packages to the correct departments or individuals  

  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, shipments, and tracking information  

  • Prepare outgoing shipments and coordinate with couriers such as FedEx and UPS  

  • Process returns and handle shipping/receiving activities  

  • Operate postage meters, scanners, and mail processing equipment  

  • Monitor office supply inventory and place orders as needed  

  • Provide a variety of administrative and staff support services  

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent  

  • 1-3 years of experience in a mailroom environment  

  • Customer service experience preferred 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills  

  • Reliable, prompt, and committed to excellent attendance  

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities  

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook  

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
