    POSITION AVAILABLE:  Physical Education and Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher

    POSITION LOCATION:  Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) with placement in the SWWC region. 

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESProvides special education instruction for students that includes development of physical fitness, motor fitness, fundamental motor skills and patterns, dance, individual and group games, and sports.  Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) is specifically designed physical education instruction and services for pupils with disabilities who have a substantial delay or disorder in physical development.  PE/DAPE Teacher organizes games and challenges that promote physical activity among children and young adults from kindergarten to high school.  The goal is to develop motor skills and physical development among younger children and proper exercise and eating habits among older children.  PE/DAPE Teacher needs to be able to communicate and demonstrate an activity properly. 
     

    QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree with licensure in K-12 Physical Education required; Developmental Adaptive Physical Education from Minnesota Department of Education preferred.  Teacher will provide physical education services to students in a self-contained setting, collaborating with paraprofessionals and member school district staff.
     

    CONTRACT/SALARY:  This full-time position begins on August 4, 2026, for the 2026-2027 school year, with a salary range of $54,477 to $98,387, depending on education, qualifications, abilities, and experience. The role includes excellent benefits.
