Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking Home Life Administrators  (HLA) to provide leadership and support to residential living staff (houseparents) while ensuring safe and effective residential operations that promote student success.

Position Details

  • Location: Onsite, Hershey, PA

  • Compensation: $81,000–$108,000 + benefits

  • Residency Requirement: Must live on campus due to evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities.

Core Purpose

Lead and nurture a safe, structured, and caring residential environment by supporting houseparents and students in their growth, accountability, and readiness for career and life success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with students and houseparents; ensure a positive, wellmanaged home culture.

  • Coach and hold houseparents accountable for routines, supervision, student development, and behavior support.

  • Ensure student engagement, academic support, health & wellness protocols, and daily home operations are implemented with fidelity.

  • Oversee residential compliance, documentation, and administrative processes.

  • Collaborate with parent sponsors and school partners to support holistic student development.


  • Bachelor’s degree required, master's preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years in an educational or residential leadership role is preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead adults, build relationships, and influence positive outcomes.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and crisismanagement skills.

  • Evening and weekend work hours.

  • Must uphold a high degree of integrity, serving as a role model for MHS staff and students.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
