Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
A Weapon Quality Program Engineer leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications as part of an effective Weapon Quality Management System (WQMS). They are responsible for developing and maintaining weapon quality documents to ensure they adhere to the required standards and guidelines. In this role, they serve as a point of contact for the Weapon Quality Policy, NAP401.1A, and Defense Programs Business Process System (DPBPS) requirements related to Weapon Quality.
Leveraging extensive experience in successfully leading and engaging people, this position utilizes strong interpersonal skills to facilitate communication, collaborate effectively, and build consensus among stakeholders. They possess advanced knowledge and experience with key quality documents and standards such as NNSA NAP 401.1A, Weapon Quality Policy, and SD 452.3-1A, Defense Programs Business Process System (DPBPS).
o Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications for an effective Weapon Quality Management System.
o Manage and facilitate annual assessment process for NAP401.1A assessments to ensure compliance with the Weapon Quality Policy.
o Perform assessments to ensure compliance with weapon quality requirements
o Coach and mentor assessors for NAP 401.1A and DPBPS assessments
o Interface with NNSA federal personnel and local field office for weapon quality program and WQMS information.
o Primary point of contact for maintaining site database for Standards/Requirements Identification Document(S/RID) for NAP401.1A and weapon quality related DPBPS documents
o Interface with the company contract personnel to ensure requirements are incorporated with applicable processes and procedures
o Possess advanced knowledge and experience with key quality documents and standards such as:
o NNSA Weapon Quality Policy NAP 401.1A
o SD 452.3-1A Defense Programs Business Process System (DPBPS)
o Defense Programs Business Process System procedure architecture and methodologies
o SRS contract assurance, compliance requirements, and preventive action management
o Weapon quality point of contact and support for DPBPS M&O Contractor Working Group (M&OCWG)
o Support complex level coordination of policy updates and development
o Support complex level strategy development and meetings
o Utilize strong interpersonal skills to facilitate communication, negotiate agreements, collaborate effectively, and build consensus among stakeholders.
