Job Summary: MODLOGIQ is seeking an experienced Welder to work in our New Holland PA office/plant to oversee and manage modular construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Requirements
As a Level II Welder, you will align, weld, and repair steel structures according to project plans and safety standards. You are responsible for the quality and accuracy of your work throughout all construction phases, collaborating with the foreman and sub-trades to deliver high-quality projects on schedule.
Technical Execution: Perform welding (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW) in all positions. Tasks include layout, aligning, tack-welding, and grinding parts according to blueprints and technical specifications.
Project Flow: Follow the Method of Construction (MOC) and project schedules. Manage labor hours efficiently and ensure the work area is clean and materials are stocked.
Quality Control: Act as the "first level" of quality control by inspecting finished work against drawings. Address any deficiencies reported by the QA/Safety team immediately.
Site Management: Assist in weather-proofing buildings and operating heavy equipment like large cranes.
Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor lower-level welders and maintain professional relationships with sub-contractors and inspectors.
Key Requirements & Specifications
Certifications: Must maintain AWS D1.1 certification and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in welding (specifically FCAW or SMAW).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, using construction calculators, and interpreting AWS welding symbols and data sheets.
Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to company policies and safety protocols, including fire extinguisher training and "stop work" authority for unsafe conditions.
Logistics: Must be a US citizen, own personal hand tools, and be willing to travel or stay overnight for projects as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Conditions: Ability to work in varying environments, from quiet offices to loud production plants (>80 decibels), and in all weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
Aptitude: High level of concentration over long periods and the ability to work in tight spaces.
