Position Description Summary/Purpose:
University of Bridgeport is seeking candidates for the position of Undergraduate Admissions Officer. This position recruits prospective students, facilitates admission requirements and provides support and guidance to prospective students throughout the enrollment process. This position will be located in Bridgeport, Connecticut but requires travel in New England and adjacent areas for several months out of the year.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Facilitates all enrollment activities for students pursuing enrollment into the University by providing appropriate follow-up and follow-through with prospective students from point of inquiry through enrollment.
Excellent relationship building skills; understands how to use a personalized approach to present information as to why and how the University may benefit a student’s personal, academic and professional goals.
Identify and schedule a comprehensive travel schedule to high schools, community colleges, or other appropriate organizations for the purposes of recruiting undergraduate students. Coordinate travel needs such as hotels, meals, and rentals
Independently manages office priorities including travel, student outreach, reviewing applications
Thrives in a goal driven environment where metrics are consistently tracked to ensure established goals are met on time. Reports weekly on student pipeline performance
Independently analyzes student pipeline, diagnoses areas of success and opportunities, creates strategies to capitalize on enrollments
Reviews and makes decisions on applications for all domestic undergraduate students applying to the University, including those below stated GPA requirements
Executes weekend tours and information sessions independently; participates in open houses and accepted student day events
Develops a qualifying system to identify potential enrollments
Collects all necessary documents and paperwork toward enrollment including applications, transcripts, and immunization records.
Presents information on the process to apply for Financial Aid, schedules financial aid appointments and acts as the primary liaison to the Financial Aid Office.
Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
