Notice of Vacant Position: Substitute Bus Driver
The District
Reardan-Edwall School District encompasses a large geographic area including the towns of
Reardan and Edwall. The District includes one elementary school and one secondary school.
Our school district has a deep focus on our core values which serve as a guide for our

Reardan schools receive strong support from the community. The successful candidate will

Qualifications
● Close affiliation with and commitment to Reardan-Edwall School District’s
Mission, Vision and Values.
● Minimum of 21 years of age
● WE CAN TRAIN!!
● Pass a pre-employment drug test
● Successful passing of the fingerprint process and background check
● Be free of conviction of any offense which may reflect upon the necessary trust and
confidence required of the position.
● Valid Commercial driver’s license preferred with P and S endorsements with air brake
restriction removed, or ability to attend training to obtain CDL and required
endorsements.
● First Aid with CPR and AED training or ability to obtain
● Professional and courteous in communication with coworkers and students
● Maintain satisfactory performance ratings in all categories of the evaluation. Failure to do
so may result in loss of the position - Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
and additional examples of the work described

Education
High School Diploma or GED (min)

Job Duties
● Operating school bus and/or district vehicles in accordance within the laws of the state
and policies and procedures of the district.
● Safely drive school buses and district vehicles in all types of weather conditions to
support the education of children.
● Service, inspect and clean school buses and district vehicles and related equipment as
required by the state. To include the interior and exterior sweeping and washing,
installation of fuel, oil, coolant.
● Maintain control of the students using student management techniques including PBIS.
Report student safety violations, or other behaviors that require actions of a supervisor,
teacher, coach or administrator.
● Complete forms and records as required by the state or district policies.
● Operate and inspect all school bus equipment and accessories including but not limited
to fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, snow chains and first aid kits.
● Attend training as required by the state and district.
● Submit to random drug testing.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.
Wage Range
2025/26 Sub Rate: $23.40-$29.01 (placed on salary schedule due to the district having difficulty
filling bus driver positions for the 25/26 school year; otherwise $21/hr sub rate)
