Job Summary: The Youth Sports Supervisor oversees the daily operations, staffing, and execution of youth sports leagues, clinics, and events. This position ensures quality programming, enforces safety and league rules, provides staff supervision, and serves as a liaison between the recreation department, coaches, participants, and parents.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills
Minimum Requirements
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required within 60 days of hire.
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job,
AND
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- Two (2) officiating experience.
- Three (3) years of customer service experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of youth sports rules, operations, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills for managing part-time and seasonal staff.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple games or facilities simultaneously under pressure.
- Skilled in working with diverse populations, especially children and families.
- Knowledge of CPR/First Aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
Essential Functions
- Aids in the oversight and delivery of Greeley Recreation programs, services, and special events, supporting and leading other part-time staff including, but not limited to, officials and scorekeepers.
- Prepares gym/field for play by setting up any necessary equipment and inspect the site to ensure participant safety.
- Works effectively and productively in a fast-paced environment.
- Explains and enforces facility and/or program rules, policies, and procedures while positively representing the City.
- Provides first-rate customer support to members, guests, participants, and the public, resolving immediate concerns as best as possible with the established guidelines and framework of the facility and/or program.
- Acts quickly, calmly, and appropriately in emergency situations.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.

Work Environment
- Frequent interruptions and heavy public contact.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and in adverse weather or extremely hot conditions, where one may be exposed to loud noises, dust, fumes, and chemicals.
- Workdays may extend from early morning to late evening, as well as weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Vision to perform physical activities, read computer keyboards, reference books and other written documents.
- Strength and stamina enough to walk, stand, stretch, bend, lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Sit, stand, walk, bending and running for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity to complete daily work such as operate computer keyboards, drive and operate motor vehicles, and operate other office equipment and complete paperwork.
