JOB PURPOSE
Job purposeThe IT Manager serves as the primary IT leader for an assigned PHINIA manufacturing or engineering site, combining both Business Relationship Manager (BRM) strategic responsibilities and Service Delivery Manager (SDM) operational ownership. This role partners closely with site leadership to align IT services with business goals while ensuring high-quality, secure, and reliable day‑to‑day operations. The IT Manager drives site demand planning, service delivery excellence, vendor and technician performance, lifecycle management, and local execution of global IT initiatives acting as the connective layer between the site and PHINIA’s global IT organization
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary IT leader for the assigned PHINIA site, owning both BRM (strategic) and SDM (operational) responsibilities.
- Partner with site leadership to align IT plans, priorities, and investments with site operational goals, engineering needs, safety, quality, and manufacturing objectives.
- Build strong relationships with site business leaders to understand upcoming needs, shape demand, and translate requirements into actionable IT initiatives.
- Provide transparency of IT initiatives through integrated site‑level roadmaps, scorecards, and status updates.
- Drive continuous improvement for site systems, shopfloor IT, user experience, and digital capabilities (mobility, IoT, automation, workplace modernization).
- Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring service stability, rapid issue resolution, SLA adherence, and minimal business disruption.
- Manage and govern Service Providers and onsite Client Technicians, ensuring delivery meets site demand, expected service quality, and contract performance.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management at the site; chair or participate in CAB activities; manage escalations and root‑cause follow‑up.
- Own site service delivery scorecards, operational KPIs, and IT performance metrics; identify trends and execute corrective actions.
- Ensure cyber resiliency and lifecycle management for site infrastructure, including devices, network, hosting, and operational technology connectivity.
- Prioritize IT work across all site initiatives; provide regular reporting on top issues, risks, and resource alignment.
- Manage PR/PO processes, budgeting inputs, invoice review/approvals, and support local service allocation and funding discussions.
- Support corporate and BU IT initiatives at the site, including cyber programs, footprint changes, new product launches, and infrastructure modernization.
- Coordinate local readiness for projects, maintenance windows, upgrades, and transformation activities (cloud, S/4, workplace modernization).
- Drive shift‑left, self‑service enablement, and adoption of tools like PHINfo, knowledge bases, and automation to reduce support dependency.
- Maintain strong collaboration with Global IT, BRMs, Enterprise Architects, and Infrastructure/Security teams to ensure site alignment with PHINIA standards.
- Identify emerging technologies and opportunities that enhance site operations; evaluate potential value and coordinate pilot/adoption.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and continual service improvement across all site IT motions
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 7–10+ years of IT experience supporting manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Demonstrated experience performing both strategic (BRM) and operational (SDM) responsibilities.
- Proven experience managing service providers and on‑site IT technicians in a multi‑site or production‑critical environment.
- Strong background in ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change) and IT service delivery governance
- Working knowledge of site infrastructure (network, hosting, servers, EUC) and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Experience with digital manufacturing systems, operational technology (OT) connectivity, or engineering systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and site performance reporting (SLAs, scorecards, dashboards).
- Ability to support execution of corporate IT programs, infrastructure refreshes, cyber resiliency and cloud migration readiness
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience partnering directly with site leadership.
- Ability to prioritize, manage escalations, and lead through operational challenges with urgency and accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, service quality, and user experience uplift.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without authority and work effectively with global IT teams.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment
