Full-time, weekday Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician role with paid training and no nights or weekends.

Sonnenberg is a local behavioral health organization providing center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals across the lifespan. We are hiring Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians to join our Mount Pleasant center. This is a full-time, in-person position with paid training, consistent weekday hours, and supervision from Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

No prior experience in ABA is required for entry-level candidates. This role includes clear expectations, structured supervision, and regular check-ins to support skill development over time.

What this role is really like

This Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician role is a full-time, center-based position providing one-on-one, individualized skill and behavior support to individuals of all ages.

Support is delivered through structured activities, daily routines, and targeted skill-building opportunities. You’ll work in a team-based center setting where expectations are clear and support is built into the role.

This position is active and hands-on and is well suited for people who are looking for professional skill development in behavioral health or education. While the role is structured, each day brings variety as individuals work toward tailored goals related to skill development, independence, and overall well-being.

What you’ll do

  • Implement individualized support plans with clear guidance and oversight
  • Use structured activities and daily routines to support skill development
  • Dress comfortably and professionally for movement and floor-based activities
  • Support daily living activities as appropriate to the individual
  • Share observations and collaborate with supervisors and teammates
  • Collect and document basic information about activities and progress, using provided tablets to support team communication

What we’re looking for

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to be active, including floor work and lifting up to ~20 lbs
  • Ability to pass required background checks

Helpful but not required:

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental differences or diverse support needs
  • Experience in education, caregiving, behavioral health, or human services
