Position Summary


The Facilities & Grounds Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of marina facilities, grounds, and public areas. This hands-on role ensures a high standard of presentation for guests by performing routine maintenance, sanitation, event support, and minor repairs. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-directed, and comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced marina environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily deep cleaning and disinfecting of all public restrooms to a “perfect” standard
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, including outdoor and behind-the-bar spaces
  • Complete routine cleaning of high-traffic guest areas, ensuring a consistently welcoming environment
  • Collect and haul trash from marina, restroom, and common areas to designated dumpsters
  • Maintain cleanliness of beach, grass, parking lots, and walkways
  • Rake and groom beach and landscaped areas regularly
  • Follow a monthly rotational maintenance schedule (Docks A–H), including pressure washing and hardware tightening
  • Perform minor repairs such as decking replacement, cleat securing, and bumper strip installation
  • Conduct basic upkeep to ensure docks and public spaces remain safe and functional
  • Act as the “eyes and ears” of the property by identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
  • Immediately report structural or major repair issues to management
  • Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers and GFCI pedestals
  • Set up and break down events, including tables, chairs, and staging
  • Assist bar and service teams during events as needed to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

  • Previous facilities, maintenance, landscaping, or similar experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and follow structured maintenance schedules
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools (drills, impact drivers, pressure washers)
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly (trash hauling, equipment, and materials)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to report issues via photo/text
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk long distances on uneven dock surfaces
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical labor throughout the day
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Work Environment

  • Outdoor marina setting with exposure to sun, heat, cold, and water elements
  • Fast-paced environment, especially during peak season and events
  • Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
