Job Overview
The Channel Sales Manager – Trade will be responsible for driving sales growth and retail excellence across , managing both on-roll and off-roll sales executives. The role requires strong leadership in channel management, distributor engagement, and retail execution to achieve monthly sales targets.
This position demands a leader who can balance strategy and execution — someone who can develop a winning sales team while ensuring perfect availability, visibility, and distribution across the market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Management
Deliver monthly and annual sales targets of ₹25 to 28 Crores for the Pune , South Maharashtra & Goa region.
Drive primary and secondary sales, ensuring availability and visibility across GT outlets.
Monitor sales trends, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
Work closely with distributors to optimize stock flow, order management, and credit discipline.
Develop and execute territory plans aligned with the trade strategy and brand priorities.
2. Channel & Distribution Management
Manage and develop the distributor network across Pune , South Maharashtra & Goa for robust coverage.
Monitor ROI, stock movement, and distributor performance metrics.
Ensure efficient redistribution, market coverage, and service levels.
Partner with trade marketing for effective activation and promotions.
3. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead a team of 6 on-roll CSEs and 26 off-roll RSR's spread across the area.
Conduct regular field visits, joint working, and performance reviews.
Drive capability enhancement through training, coaching, and motivation.
Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and high performance.
4. Market Execution & Visibility
Ensure flawless execution of trade marketing activities and retail visibility programs.
Track merchandising, planogram compliance, and in-store activation performance.
Analyze competitor activities and provide actionable insights to the ZSM and marketing teams.
5. Process & Compliance
Ensure adherence to company policies, systems, and ethical business practices.
Monitor and maintain data accuracy in sales reporting and market feedback.
About You:
Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred.
5+ years of experience in FMCG / Consumer Healthcare trade sales.
Proven track record in channel & retail management, distributor handling, and team leadership.
Strong exposure to Maharashtra market dynamics and GT distribution network.
Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Willingness to travel extensively across the area.
