About the role
Working with both a multi-disciplinary project team based in Ireland and also within a wider team of grid connections experts and engineers, this role will facilitate shaping and delivering successful grid connection outcomes for a portfolio of renewable energy assets, from a mature development stage through to construction and delivery. As an integral part of the project delivery team, the role-holder will be best located with access to our main Irish office in Cork, where both hybrid and fully office-based working is supported.
This role will suit an enthusiastic and organised individual, someone driven to make a difference in tackling decarbonisation as part of a team. The role holder will be expected to have an eye for detail, to be professional and tenacious in following-up outstanding tasks, with a willingness to work flexibly and to prioritise in accordance with the needs of our renewable energy projects. Deep subject matter expertise is not assumed, but a willingness to learn from our experienced team is essential.
What you will do
Reporting to the UK & Ireland Grid Connections Manager, manage the successful delivery of grid connection outcomes for utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects, with scope for involvement in other technologies and international projects as the need arises.

Manage grid connection progression, relevant grid code compliance and related registration procedures to ensure timely and cost-effective energisation for assigned projects.
Actively de-risk and document the de-risking of grid connection progression to support each project’s programme for project finance.
Manage grid-related contracts, ensuring key milestones, risks and obligations are understood and tackled by the relevant stakeholders. This may include, for example, contracts for independent connection provision, key electrical transmission and distribution equipment, technical compliance studies and performance demonstration tests.
Support the UK & Ireland Grid Connections Manager in accurately capturing project grid liabilities and key risks.
Provide technical assistance during project development and construction. Ensure the factors influencing and influenced by the grid connection are considered, and that project designs meet all the technical grid code compliance requirements, liaising with the relevant specialists.
