Job Description

Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company has an immediate full-time opening for a Sr. Financial Analyst in our Reinsurance department. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our initiative-taking Reinsurance team to support our continued growth and success. This position will play a crucial role in analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on the financial performance of our reinsurance agreements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently. 






WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:



  • Estimated Salary: $80,000-$95,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Monitor and analyze financial data related to reinsurance, including premiums, claims, and reserves. Report on the financial performance of the reinsurance agreement. 

  • Accountable for the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly reports serving both internal and external customers.

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned. Seeking out projects and taking leadership role with increasing frequency. 

  • Document and maintain key processes, decisions, and insights related to reinsurance finance and administration.

  • Collaborate with finance, actuarial, underwriting, claims, and strategic business units to support business strategy and product development.

  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and reduction of manual work.






WHAT YOU’LL BRING:



  • Strong knowledge of finance and/or accounting practices and procedures preferably common to an insurance industry finance environment. 

  • Strong data analysis and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Strong aptitude for technical learning with the ability to apply modern technologies to address business problems and drive process optimization.

  • A creative, curious, and improvement-oriented mindset

  • Self-driven with demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, influence change with peers, management, and business partners. 

  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.

  • Ability to work at our home office located in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment.






PREFERRED:



  • Experience in data analytics, accounting, or financial reporting in the insurance industry.

  • Knowledge of life insurance products, reinsurance structures, or experience with the TAI (Tindall Associates Inc.) Life Reinsurance Administration System.
