Job Title: Civil Process Server

Location: Cabell County (West Virginia)

Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Each year, we handle thousands of legal documents, including foreclosures, collections, litigation, and civil complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Use mobile apps and websites to take photos, provide detailed status updates, and generate proofs of service.

•    Possess a personal computer/laptop, printer, scanner, internet access, and a smartphone (iPhone or Android).

•    Communicate in a professional and timely manner with a strong attention to detail to meet strict court deadlines.

•    Be knowledgeable about the court system, legal documents, and local and state laws.


Daily Responsibilities May Include:

•    Serving legal documents to residences and businesses in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

•    Providing status updates and photos of each attempt via smartphone apps.

•    Ability to electronically sign (esign) or manually sign documents, as well as edit and print proofs of service through our process server case management software.

•    Requesting copies of legal documents from the court when needed.


Requirements:

•    Have reliable transportation and knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.

•    Hold a current driver’s license.

•    Provide proof of auto insurance.

•    Meet criminal background standards.

•    Experience (preferred)
