Job Description

General Purpose of Position: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Small Machine Equipment Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating a variety of light construction machinery, vehicles, and power tools to assist in the completion of projects, such as construction and/or oil & gas projects, utility repairs, or site preparation. This role requires a strong focus on safety, routine maintenance of machinery, and the ability to perform manual labor when necessary.



 



Essential Job Duties:




  1. Equipment Operation: Safely operate light equipment including, but not limited to, skid steers, mini-excavators, telehandlers and trenchers.

  2. Maintenance & Inspection: Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment, checking fluids, grease, tires, and mechanical components. Perform routine maintenance (e.g., lubricating, cleaning) and report malfunctions to supervisors immediately. Clean and wash equipment as needed.

  3. Job-Site Support: Assist with loading and unloading materials, tools, and machinery at job sites. Perform manual labor tasks, including tying down equipment, lifting, etc.

  4. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols and working in compliance with OSHA regulations.

  5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and work completed using a hand-held device such as a cell phone or laptop/tablet.



 



Additional Job Duties:




  1. Maintain and foster professional relationships with all customers, staff, and vendors.

  2. Complete all required company safety documentation daily (e.g., JSEA, DVIR, journey management, and observation cards).

  3. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
