Job Description

This position plays an essential role in creating memorable guest experiences by coordinating, hosting, and executing events from start to finish. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and guest-focused, ensuring every celebration—especially birthday parties—is seamless, engaging, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

Event Hosting & Guest Interaction:
  • Serve as the primary host for birthday parties, as well as other on-property events such as venue events and group sales special bookings
  • Ensure all event timelines, details, and expectations are executed accurately
  • Welcome guests with a positive, friendly demeanor as their first point of contact
  • Assist with decorations, food delivery, and special requests throughout the event
  • Address guest questions or concerns promptly while keeping the Sales Reservation Coordinator and team members informed
  • Deliver a fun, engaging, and high-quality experience for all guests
Event Setup & Cleanup:
  • Prepare party and event spaces according to specifications, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Oversee event flow to ensure all activities operate smoothly and on schedule
  • Clean and reset spaces efficiently following each event to prepare for upcoming bookings
Team Communication & Scheduling:
  • Communicate updates, issues, or concerns to the Sales Lead and Sales Team in a timely manner
  • Monitor inventory for birthday party and event items; notify the Sales Reservation Coordinator when supplies need to be reordered
  • Submit schedule requests and time-off approvals through the Sales Lead
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless execution of all events
Operational Excellence:
  • Follow all OWA Parks & Resort policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain professionalism while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership team
Additional Duties & Expectations:
  • Serve as the face of the event—greet every group with enthusiasm and a smile
  • Set up party/event spaces, assist with décor, and coordinate food service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all event areas
  • Balance multiple tasks while prioritizing guest satisfaction
  • Represent OWA Parks & Resort with a positive, service-driven attitude at all times

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced, interactive setting both outdoors and indoors across park and event spaces
  • Requires standing, walking, and active participation throughout events
  • Involves setup and teardown for birthday parties and additional on-property events (some heavy lifting required for select events)
  • Primary workdays are Saturdays and Sundays, and weekdays on an as needed basis especially for summer months with a strong focus on party operations; Flexible scheduling required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Sales Lead, Sales Supervisor, Sales Manager, or Sales Director
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 16 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED unless currently enrolled
  • Prior work experience in hospitality or retail preferred, but not required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Great personality and enjoy working with the public with special interest in guest service
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to effectively identify problems and present resolutions
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays to include working two out of three weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Must be able to work in sunny, hot, humid, cold and rainy conditions
  • Willing and able to work in a smoke, tobacco, and drug-free workplace
