    Salary: Per KEA Salary Schedule

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Conduct assessments (intelligence, achievement, functional behavioral, social, emotional and curriculum-based assessment) and interpret results for special education eligibility and individual program needs
     
    Participate as a team member in special education assessment, eligibility and program design
     
    Provide case management and coordination
     
    Complete required reports in an accurate and timely manner; maintain compliance paperwork
     
    Provide group and individual counseling and social skills training as indicated on IEP's
     
    Consult with parents, staff and administration regarding student needs
     
    Understand and comply with current legislation on children with disabilities
     
    Understand and follow policies and procedures as adopted by the school district
     
    Follow Code of Ethics and maintain a high standard of professional behavior
     
    Provide crisis intervention to students when appropriate
     
    Participate in interagency teams
     
    Maintain student confidentiality according to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
     
    Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies
     
    Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must possess or be eligible for Washington State E.S.A. Certificate with endorsement as a school psychologist
     
    Master's Degree in Psychology or School Psychology
     
    Supervised practicum or school psychology internship in an educational setting K-12
     
    Knowledge of state and federal legislation for disabilities (WAC 392-172A, IDEA '04, Section 504, etc.)
     
    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing using district-provided hardware and software
     
    Demonstrated ability to administer standardized tests
     
    Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings as required
     
    Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and interagency teams
     
    Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diversity among individual students and ability to set appropriate expectations for individual students
     
    Demonstrated ability to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions listed below
     
    Willingness to work with youth involved with the juvenile justice system
     
    Demonstrated ability to maintain individual case records according to law
     
    Willingness to participate in professional development activities designed to upgrade professional skills
     
    Must be willing to uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures
