Description

Candidates should possess:

- Ability to review documentation for accuracy
- Committed to timely meeting deadlines

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting attorneys and other staff
- Reviewing records and documents (searching documents for key words, terms, phrases; redacting documents electronically)
- Legal research and writing
- Interviewing clients
- Performing other duties as assigned
*These positions are not under the merit system and generally includes the staffs of the governor and lieutenant governor, policy-making managers, and agency leaders. (See KRS 18A.115.) These positions have no formal selection criteria and are not appointed from a register. Employees in these positions may be terminated 'without notice of cause' without recourse. EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in paralegal science or a bachelor's degree with a minor in paralegal studies OR two-year program in paralegal studies OR post-baccalaureate certificate in paralegal studies OR a Juris Doctorate or a law degree from a college of law.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience as a paralegal or legal secretary will substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
