About the Role
The Supply Chain & Data Analytics Intern will support data analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives within Matson Logistics’ Supply Chain division. This structured and mentored internship provides hands-on experience working with real-world logistics data, analytics tools, and cross-functional teams.
This role offers a strong foundation for developing practical skills in data analytics, business intelligence, and supply chain operations, while contributing to meaningful projects.
What you’ll do:
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Assist in analyzing shipment, order, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Help validate data accuracy and consistency across systems and reports.
Process Improvement & Insights
- Review internal processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Analyze data flows across PO, booking, and shipment processes and recommend improvements.
- Support KPI tracking and performance reporting related to service levels and operational metrics.
Systems & Documentation Support
- Document data definitions, reporting logic, and operational processes to support transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Assist customers and internal users with generating system reports.
- Collaborate with IT and analytics teams on system enhancements and tool improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with internal teams across operations, technology, and analytics to support business initiatives.
- Participate in project work and present findings or insights to stakeholders.

- Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform additional tasks and projects assigned to support business goals.
You have these qualifications:
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Supply Chain, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
- Coursework or familiarity with tools such as SQL, Excel, Python, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Extra credit if you have:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
