Job Description

Job Title: Cheerleading Coach

Job Summary:
The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for leading, training, and mentoring a team of cheerleaders to perform at athletic events, competitions, and school functions. This role focuses on skill development, teamwork, safety, and promoting school spirit while maintaining a positive and disciplined team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct regular practices, focusing on stunts, tumbling, choreography, and conditioning
  • Develop routines for games, pep rallies, and competitions
  • Teach proper techniques and ensure all safety guidelines are followed
  • Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, and events
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among team members
  • Evaluate athletes’ skills and provide constructive feedback
  • Coordinate with school staff, athletic directors, and parents
  • Organize tryouts and assist in team selection
  • Manage uniforms, equipment, and practice schedules
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic regulations

Qualifications:

  • Previous cheerleading experience (high school, college, or competitive level preferred)
  • Knowledge of stunting, tumbling, and cheer safety standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required)
  • Coaching experience is a plus

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Work Environment:

  • Practices held in gyms or outdoor fields
