Job Title: Cheerleading Coach
Job Summary:
The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for leading, training, and mentoring a team of cheerleaders to perform at athletic events, competitions, and school functions. This role focuses on skill development, teamwork, safety, and promoting school spirit while maintaining a positive and disciplined team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct regular practices, focusing on stunts, tumbling, choreography, and conditioning
- Develop routines for games, pep rallies, and competitions
- Teach proper techniques and ensure all safety guidelines are followed
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, and events
- Foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among team members
- Evaluate athletes’ skills and provide constructive feedback
- Coordinate with school staff, athletic directors, and parents
- Organize tryouts and assist in team selection
- Manage uniforms, equipment, and practice schedules
- Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous cheerleading experience (high school, college, or competitive level preferred)
- Knowledge of stunting, tumbling, and cheer safety standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required)
- Coaching experience is a plus
