We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded, and results-driven Pricing Specialist – Ocean Freight to join our Freight Forwarding Pricing team.This role plays a key part in ocean freight tender management, global rate sourcing, inter-company pricing coordination, and product development, ensuring competitive and sustainable pricing solutions for our customers.
The position will focus primarily on ocean freight, while requiring a general understanding of air, rail, and trucking to support multimodal solutions and cross-product collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support ocean freight pricing activities, ensuring competitive, accurate, and profitable rate solutions
- Source and negotiate ocean freight rates directly with carriers, NVOCCs, and partners
- Manage inter-company pricing negotiations with overseas offices and global pricing teams
- Analyze freight market trends, carrier tariffs, capacity, and space availability to maintain pricing competitiveness
- Prepare and manage ocean freight tenders and RFQs, including data collection, rate validation, and submission coordination
- Actively contribute to product management, including:
- developing ocean and rail freight service products
- defining pricing structures and value propositions
- promoting products internally within pricing, sales, and operations teams
- Collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to align pricing with customer needs and operational feasibility
- Maintain and update rate databases using internal digital tools and systems
- Support vendor contract management and global procurement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal pricing policies and approval processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or relates fields.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in pricing or procurement/operations/sales within the freight forwarding or logistics industry (ocean/air freight, inland haulage). Proven hands-on experience with ocean freight pricing and tenders is mandatory
- Solid understanding of international freight forwarding Incoterms, carrier rate structures, and global trade lanes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate internally with overseas offices and externally with carriers.
- Ability to manage inter-company pricing discussions and align global pricing strategies.
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to develop, structure, and promote freight products (ocean/rail services) internally.
- Good understanding of international shipping documentation, trade regulations, and multimodal logistics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience with pricing or rate management systems is a plus.
