Brief Job Overview/Summary
Student Development Assistant provides customer service and administrative support, promotes student involvement opportunities, and assists with planning and running campus events and programs. Supports student organizations and helps with leadership and engagement initiatives.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assist with administrative duties and serve as customer service agent for the Office of Student Development
• Actively promote involvement opportunities to current and prospective students
• Provide consultation to student organization leaders in the event planning process
• Assist with event planning and marketing programs for the office and large scale events sponsored by student organizations
• Provide assistance and coverage at on campus events, including weekend events, as needed
• Participate in the development, coordination, and facilitation of student organization trainings and leadership programs
• Participate in departmental committees as assigned
• Oversees more than 250 ways to get involved, including student organizations, fraternities and Student Senate
• Coordinates several campus events, including Get Involved Fairs, University Weekend, Annual Student, Faculty and Staff Dinner, Leadership Lunch Series, Story Space, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled as a Stockton University matriculated undergraduate student during the time of employment
• Must be in good academic standing during the time of employment
• Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 prior to and during employment
• Strong administrative and communication skills
• Strong sense of professionalism, enthusiasm, and self-motivation
• Involvement in a student club or Greek organization is strongly preferred
