SUMMARY



The GMT2 is responsible for repairing, maintaining and installing all types of Mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment, support equipment and facilities.  Insures work performed is in compliance with recognized Standard Codes, OSHA regulations and any engineering plans and documents provided and/or equipment manuals.



2 OPENINGS: 1 Day Shift and 1 Swing Shift



 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Makes new or modified installations consistent with specifications and engineering plans

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements

  • Welds fabricated metal components to assemble structural forms

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices

  • Lubricates and cleans parts

  • Starts devices to diagnose and test their performance.

  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement

  • Troubleshoots electrical system in the plant and makes repairs

  • Reads and interprets electric schematics and structural/mechanical drawings

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions

  • Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems

  • Performs normal maintenance on production equipment, support equipment and facilities

  • Performs all job duties in a safe manner without bodily injury to self or others

  • Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs
