GCyber is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer/Architect to support a high visibility customer in Washington, DC. The Senior DevOps Engineer/Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing a modern infrastructure environment — including containerizing legacy applications, automating code delivery pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and security of production systems.

As the Senior DevOps Engineer/Architect, you will:
  • Architect containerization strategies for legacy applications and define migration paths to Kubernetes-based environments
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Rancher, and Helm for automated build, test, and deployment workflows
  • Build and manage container infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes across on-premises and cloud environments
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks using Python, Bash, and Shell scripting
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack
  • Enforce access management and security best practices including IAM, SSH, VPN, and S3 bucket policies
  • Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-mortems, and drive systemic improvements
  • Establish and document architectural standards, deployment patterns, and SLOs/SLIs for platform reliability
  • Manage documentation and project tracking in Jira and Confluence
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT II / Security+ certification (or equivalent)
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in an architect or senior technical lead capacity
  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm in production environments
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tooling: GitLab, Jenkins, and Rancher
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and/or Shell
  • Experience deploying and managing on-premises/data center infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, load balancers, and firewalls
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
