Bulk Apothecary is a subsidiary of Natural Essentials and was founded in mid-2010 as a small brick & mortar
specialty retailer in Streetsboro, Ohio, and has since grown to become one of the nation's largest online suppliers of natural ingredients and essential oils. Our main focus from the beginning was soap and candle-making supplies, but the word of our fantastic prices, amazing quality and excellent customer service spread. Within 3 years, we expanded our offering to a wide range of specialty ingredients and vitamin supplements and had a dominant online presence that was growing by the day. Today, we still operate our small store in Aurora, Ohio but also have an online presence that's growth is nothing short of amazing.
Job Description:
Manufacturing Line Maintenance Manager:
The Manufacturing Line Maintenance Manager leads the production line maintenance team, overseeing repairs and preventive systems to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. This position will oversee budgets, spare parts inventory and safety compliance while optimizing production efficiency. This role requires technical expertise and knowledge of production line equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely manage personnel to meet all production line maintenance requirements.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to maintain a 95% operational readiness and sustaining an OEE of 85% or greater.
- Maintain a digital maintenance system tracking all labor and costs to effectively make recommendations for improvements or replacements of old, new and in-house created equipment.
- Monitor equipment functionality to ensure a high level of operational readiness.
- Work closely with upper management to ensure all members of the Manufacturing Maintenance team are aware of safety policies.
- Work closely with Quality to support superior cGMP and housekeeping procedures along with FDA compliance.
- Analyze workforce requirements as required by documented (historical) maintenance requests and projects.
- Conduct performance appraisals to provide coaching and guidance to all manufacturing maintenance employees.
- Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- 5+ years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.
- Strong understanding of budgeting expenses with basic knowledge of financial and accounting practices.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets within Google along with the use of Microsoft Office products to analyze data and trends.
- Familiarity with electrical/mechanical systems, PLCs, robotics, labelers and automation.
- Previous experience with best practices implementing and using continuous improvement / lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing to drive improvement.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.

Education Required:
- High school diploma.
- Associate's degree in engineering or manufacturing disciplines or a two-year technical certificate from a vocational training school with ten or more years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering ( electrical/mechanical ) with five years of relevant experience in the industry.
Additional Comments:
- State of Ohio electrical contractors license highly desirable.
- Able to demonstrate strong knowledge of NFPA-70
- Continuing education or vocational training on industrial automation, PLCs, motion control, and related electro/mechanical equipment.
- Mechanical shop skills with lathes, mills, welders, saws, and hand power tools.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Able to work in high heat and humidity or cold and dry conditions indoors/outdoors.
- Full range of motion to lift, carry, walk, climb around equipment and facilities.
- Work in elevated positions on ladders, lifts, and platforms.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and heavier weights with assistance.
- Have the ability to work around and troubleshoot moving electro/mechanical equipment utilizing proper safety procedures.
Reports to the Manufacturing Manager
