    The following noninstructional vacancy is listed in Human Resources for the 2026-2027 school year. 
     
    YULEE HIGH SCHOOL 
    2 - Paraprofessionals - ESE Student Support � (1 ON 1)                      
     
    RANGE OF PAY:     $16.44/hr - $18.17/hr  
    (Additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually.  For the 2026-2027 school year, the amount to be determined by NESPA bargaining and ratification and will be prorated from July 1, 2026.  The amount for the 2025-2026 school year was $5,908.) 

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    (1)  A high school diploma or its equivalent AND one of the following:
               (a) Two (2) years of study at an accredited postsecondary institution
               (b) An associate's degree or higher
               (c) Pass a rigorous examination demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
    (2) Computer proficiency.
    (3) Good physical health.
    (4) Ability to provide specialized support to students preferred.
    (5) Willing to complete district provided course work and implement strategies learned preferred.
     
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    * (1)  Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and equipment.
    * (2)  Assist the teacher in implementing classroom activities.
    * (3)  Provide instructional assistance as planned or coordinated by the teacher or administrator.
    * (4)  Provide student supervision as required by the teacher or administrator.
    * (5)  Record, chart, graph or otherwise display data relative to student(s) performance to include progressing, monitoring, Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Improvement Plans as established by teacher, psychologist and behavior support specialist.
    * (7)  Participate in training programs and in-service, including district approved Crisis Management Program.
    * (8)  Plan and organize appropriate instruction using guidelines established by the teacher, administrator or specialist.
       (9) Utilize classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom environment and implement  behavior interventions in accordance with the student(s) Behavior Improvement Plan(s) if applicable.
    *(10) Maintain a clean and orderly environment for students
    *(11) Operate instructional equipment effectively.
    *(12) Establish and maintain records and files pertinent to assigned student(s).
     (13)  Assist in maintaining positive relationships.
    *(14)  Follow instructions of therapists and health professionals to provide services to students, including positioning, feeding, tube-feeding, suctioning, catheterization, and communication.
    *(16)  Assist in assessing student progress as directed.
    *(17)  Assist in providing appropriate modifications needed as specified on the student's IEP.
    *(18)  Assist students in maintenance of personal hygiene, such as grooming, toileting and cleanliness.
    *(19)  Use effective, positive interpersonal skills.     
     (20)  Adhere to specific emergency procedures designed for the classroom and prepare to assume assigned role.                 
     (21)  Follow attendance, punctuality and proper dress rules.
     (22)  Model and maintain high ethical standards.
    *(23)  Practice prescribed infection control procedures.
     (24)  Prepare student lunches if required by special dietary needs.
    *(25)  Accompany student(s) to classroom activities and/other areas and provide for the student(s) unique educational and/or personal needs.
     (26)  Administer medication to student(s) in compliance with District policy/IEP/Health Care Plans.
     (27)  Maintain strict confidentiality of student data and records.
     (28)  Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
     (29)  Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
     
     
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:    
    Medium Work: Exerting up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
     
    Is expected to escort and/or transport student(s) throughout the school environment.
