SUMMARY

Provides Administrative and Organizational support to assigned staff within the practice with the guidance of the office director. Will be required to train in medical billing, electronic medical records, office operations, cash posting, medical coding, contractual, patient registration and other duties as assigned. Provide direct supervision of front line registration staff in the Emergency Room and Outpatient Registration.

  

JOB DUTIES

Employee essential job duties include:

·        Direct supervision of upfront registration in emergency room and outpatient registration.

·        Training, scheduling, and evaluating upfront registration in emergency room and outpatient registration.

·        Preparing the auditing of charts for accuracy in registrations

·        Maintaining the upfront collection reports.

·        Attending quality meetings when needed.

·        Working with staff to maximize software utilization.

·        Billing and Coding

·        Insurance Pre-Authorization

·        HIPAA Regulations

·        Physician Insurance and Hospital Credentialing Procedures

·        Responsible for the oversight of the front business office and the general workflow of the staff. 

 

 EDUCATION

·        Recent Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration (or equivalent medical office administrative experience)

·        Or, Bachelors in Business Administration.

·        Prior Healthcare Experience Preferred.

 

 EXPERIENCE

·        Strong knowledge of Excel, Office, EMR, Cash Posting, Contractual Applications, and Patient Registration is a must. 

·        Provide assistance to the Director of Revenue Cycle and create an environment of professionalism and continuity for the office staff.

·        Self-motivated, can multi-task and is organized with attention to detail.

·        Reliable – with steady completion of workload in a timely manner.

·        Has good communication skills - must work well with doctors, co-workers and patients.

·        Is responsible for administrative duties requiring excellent verbal, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills.

·        Must maintain confidentiality at all time
