Job Description

We're hiring! First Step House is looking for a full-time, fully licensed Program Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a fantastic sign-on bonus and relocation package available!

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing Permanent Supportive Housing Program, 44 North: an apartment complex with 67 units. This program provides housing and on-site supportive services for adults with severe mental illness (SMI). Residents of the 44 North program may receive services from 44 North staff or from outside providers. The 44 North Program Manager is responsible to oversee model implementation, evidence-based-practice implementation, and to provide leadership for the entire 44 North team. The Program Manager will be responsible for program outcomes, which include providing clinical services, helping residents maintain housing, assistance with activities of daily living, building social supports, and gain or regain a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives.

The 44 North Program Manager assists the Deputy Director in other administrative tasks and works in concert with the priorities of the Senior Management Team, the Executive Director, and the Board of Directors. Strong interpersonal boundaries and a clear understanding of ethical responsibilities are a necessity for this position. The 44 North Program Manager supports the clinical team by performing oversight, administrative, coaching, supporting, and corrective responsibilities. The overall goals of this position are to (a) provide high-quality care for residents, (b) provide a high level of customer service for community partners, funders, and other stake holders, and (c) perform management responsibilities to support the clinical and administrative teams.

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per year

Flexible schedule: 4 days | 9 hours

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for understanding and demonstrating outward mindset in work duties and interactions.
  • Manages clinical service delivery.
  • Provide program oversight for 24/7 Housing Support Staff in collaboration with the Housing Support Staff Team Lead and the Housing Support Staff Supervisor.
  • Ensures that evidence-based practices are done to fidelity.
  • Attends and facilitates all relevant team meetings.
  • Monitors and manages employee and treatment schedules.
  • Assists in liaising with community partners who may have existing therapeutic relationships with residents.
  • Assists residents in understanding leasing terms and liaising with the Housing Connect Property Manager
  • Tracks outcomes and reports outcomes to the executive leadership team.
  • Coordinates and supervises on-call duties for after-hours client support.
  • Manages scheduling of all clinical staff.
  • Generates monthly reports for immediate supervisor and other organizational leaders.
  • Gives regular feedback to the team members and ensures team members are performing essential job responsibilities.
  • Handles corrective actions.
  • Oversees the coordination of data and reporting requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • A master's degree and an active license in the State of Utah as a clinical mental health counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist is required.
  • Familiarity with the Assertive Community Treatment model is preferred.
  • Certification as a Mental Health Officer in the State of Utah is preferred.
