About the Department

Alabama State University, Business and Finance/Student Accounts, invites applications to fill the position of Student Accounts Representative I. This position is responsible for maintaining student's financial  records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accepts calls on current, past due, and delinquent student accounts
• Completes appropriate forms/reports, and corresponds with student as needed
• Works with college-wide student services staff and program coordinators to research and resolve or redirect student disputes and appeals.
• Handles a variety of customer situations and disputes using tact, diplomacy, and patience to defuse irate/angry customers
• Assists college-wide staff and students with interpretation of information on student accounts and related college policies and procedures
• Assists customers with inquiries on deferred payment arrangements
• Invoices third party companies for student, and also University Tuition Assistance  Liaison
• Assists customers with inquiries regarding 1098-T tax reports, including correcting student account records
• Performs other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, excellent customer service, orientation, and negotiation skills required.
