Job Summary:
Target Hospitality welcomes recent university graduates & experienced line-level TH veterans to jump on the rocket ship to for the career development adventure of their dreams! The Management Development Trainee (MDT) is an elite field‑based leadership development program tailored to prepare high‑potential candidates for operational management roles within Target Hospitality’s remote accommodations network. The program provides a combination of hands-on, discipline-specific training and a leadership-focused curriculum that takes place at one of our over 30 Target Hospitality workforce hubs.
This elite, full-time, paid development program includes a 21‑week curriculum and combines a corporate office familiarization kickoff week, comprehensive line‑level immersion, both on-site and regional support management shadowing, and a corporate wrap‑up week with a capstone presentation. Trainees will operate on the same “5 weeks on / 2 weeks off” schedule our current site managers utilize.
Upon successful completion, graduates will be considered for direct Assistant Manager placement throughout TH’s network. Those not selected for direct management placement will be considered for supervisory roles with commensurate compensation. Full-time placement is not guaranteed.
Key Learning Rotations and Competencies:
- Front Desk and Guest Services - Reservations, check‑in/out, guest relations, complaint resolution, remote guest communication protocols, and guest satisfaction metrics.
- Housekeeping and Janitorial - Standards for remote lodging, inspection checklists, inventory control, turnaround processes, and quality audits.
- Culinary Services - Kitchen operations, food safety and HACCP basics, menu execution for remote sites, and vendor coordination.
- Facilities Maintenance - Preventive maintenance, basic HVAC and plumbing awareness, vendor management, and site walk‑
- Safety and Security - OSHA fundamentals, emergency response planning, incident reporting, and contractor safety oversight.
- Leadership and Personnel Management - Coaching, scheduling, performance management, conflict resolution, and labor law basics.
- Cost Controls and Financial Acumen - Budget monitoring, cost‑per‑occupied‑unit concepts, inventory controls, basic P&L awareness, and labor cost management.
Travel Expectations:
This role requires travel to operational sites for 5 consecutive weeks. A travel stipend or company procured travel arrangements will be provided to and from site for each 5-week work rotation.

Minimum Requirements:
- Work schedule: 7 days/week, up to 12 hours/day, rotating on a 5 week on / 2 week off schedule.
- Reside in accommodations provided on site during work rotation.
- Eligible to work in the United States without employment sponsorship during or after the program.
Education and/or Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management strongly preferred; business, operations, or other related fields will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of entry level experience in hospitality, guest service, culinary services, facilities, or housekeeping/janitorial.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on site in remote locations, including standing, walking site inspections, and occasional lifting consistent with operational duties.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license
