Job Description

Primary Purpose:


Responsible for the development, coordination, and monitoring of the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and oversees federal program compliance and effectiveness.


MTSS Responsibilities:



  • Lead district-wide implementation of MTSS (academic & behavioral)

  • Develop and maintain MTSS processes, systems, and documentation

  • Coordinate universal screening, progress monitoring, and intervention systems

  • Support teachers with intervention planning and data-driven instruction

  • Monitor fidelity of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports

  • Facilitate MTSS team meetings and problem-solving processes

  • Provide training and support to staff on MTSS practices

  • Collaborate with campus administration and instructional staff


Federal Programs Responsibilities:



  • Oversee Title I program implementation and compliance

  • Ensure all federal documentation meets audit requirements

  • Manage time-and-effort documentation

  • Coordinate program evaluations and improvement plans

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines

  • Prepare for and support federal audits


Measures of Success



  • Effective implementation of MTSS systems across all campuses

  • Accurate and timely completion of all federal program requirements

  • Positive outcomes from audits and compliance reviews

  • Clear systems and processes in place for staff use

  • Improved coordination of student support services across the district


Professional Impact of the Role



  • Serves in a district-level leadership capacity with impact across all campuses

  • Focuses on systems, structure, and long-term improvement efforts

Qualifications / Job Requirements:


Education & Certification:



  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field required

  • Valid Texas teaching certificate required

  • Principal certification required


Experience:



  • Minimum of 3–5 years of successful classroom teaching experience

  • Experience with intervention systems, student support services, or instructional leadership preferred

  • Experience with federal programs (e.g., Title I) and compliance processes preferred

  • Campus or district leadership experience required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks (academic and behavioral)

  • Knowledge of federal program requirements, including Title I compliance and documentation

  • Ability to analyze and interpret student data to drive decision-making

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple systems and deadlines

  • Attention to detail, especially related to compliance and documentation

  • Ability to plan, implement, and monitor systems with fidelity

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff at all levels

  • Ability to lead professional development and support adult learners

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and problem-solving ability
