Purpose of Position: Responsible for the sales and operations of the Northern Bridge Division. Reporting to the Bridge Area Manager, this position will have P&L responsibility, leading and executing the Northern Bridge Division business plan. This position will be responsible for the safety performance of the division, administration, customer relations, estimating, plants, labs, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high safety standards and provide comprehensive safety training to the workforce.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing customers and develop new relationships with potential customers.
- Lead and direct Superintendents, Estimators, and Project Manager(s).
- Direct and oversee estimates produced by the Estimating staff
- Work with the Northern Bridge Superintendent and Bridge General Superintendent to promote safety, quality, and efficiency among the Superintendent(s), Foremen, and crew members.
- Collaborate with Superintendent(s), Project Managers, and field crews to plan, organize, and coordinate each project.
- Work with material supply vendors to ensure good communication and coordination
- Oversee equipment and Mechanic(s) with the assistance of the Area Manager and the Corporate Equipment Manager.
- Ensure open communications between other E&B Areas and Departments
- Spend time in the office and with crews, ensuring peak performance.
- Communicate and cooperate well with Corporate individuals who assist with managing the area.
- Work directly with the Regional VP in preparing the annual budget.
- Other duties as directed by Management
- This person will report directly to the Bridge Area Manager
Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the concrete/road construction industry, displaying excellent leadership skills.
- Extensive knowledge in concrete operations, including production, placement, and quality control.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and counsel employees.
- Must possess proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and the GSuite products.
- Candidates must possess good math, science, and problem-solving skills related to the road construction field.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents.
Education:
- An Undergraduate degree (preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Business) is desirable. Other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
