Job Summary:
C.R. Jackson is hiring Asphalt Team Members to support paving and roadway construction projects. In this role, you’ll assist the crew with daily job site operations, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. This is a hands-on position for individuals who enjoy physical work, teamwork, and working outdoors.
What You’ll Do:
Assist with job site setup and cleanup before and after paving operations
Operate hand and power tools including shovels, rakes, brooms, and compactors
Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks
Assist with placing, shoveling, and raking asphalt material
Mix and spread materials as directed by supervisors
Direct traffic to maintain safety for crew members and the public
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment
Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to understand and follow directions
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to work overtime, nights, and some weekends as required
Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions
Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds
Good balance, coordination, and physical stamina
Ability to work in heat, humidity, dust, and other outdoor conditions
