About the Department
The Department of Social Services seeks a highly motivated, dependable professional with advanced communication and exceptional customer service skills to determine eligibility for The Food and Nutrition Program State programs.
Position Duties
The successful candidate will complete applications by interviewing Forsyth County residents and enter the information in the Statewide eligibility system NCFAST for the FNS program.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or GED and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analyzing data, and/or performing mathematical or legal tasks.
One year of experience in an income maintenance program may substitute for two of the three years of relevant experience.
Higher education may be considered a substitute for all or part of the experience requirement.
Other Qualifications
The successful candidate must be able to interpret complex rules and regulations and use good judgment to make appropriate eligibility decisions based on verifications received from Forsyth County residents.
They must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, work quickly within deadlines, proficient knowledge of universal computer technology such as Microsoft Office and 365 and general office equipment, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
