Job Description
Job Summary:
 
The Production Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to ensure the timely delivery of aerospace products. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, engineering, and supply chain, to align production schedules with customer demands, inventory goals, and capacity constraints.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a detailed master production schedule that balances customer requirements, production capacity, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and demand planning teams to forecast and analyze customer demand, ensuring alignment with production capabilities.
  • Analyze production capacity and resource availability to identify constraints and recommend solutions for optimizing throughput.
  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the availability of materials and components required to meet the production schedule.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products while meeting quality and cost objectives.
  • Communicate scheduling priorities and changes to production teams and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment across the organization.
  • Identify and address scheduling conflicts, production bottlenecks, and other issues that could impact the production schedule.
  • Implement and support initiatives to improve scheduling processes, production efficiency, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling accuracy, on-time delivery, and production efficiency.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems to develop and update schedules, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensure scheduling practices adhere to aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, and company policies.
  • Establishes shop floor work schedules per the production schedule.
  • Analyzes shipping notices, bills of lading, customer orders and other records to determine manufacturing and shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet customer demands.
  • Provide timely updates to management on the status of production schedules, highlighting any deviations or risks.
  • Helps resolve inventory discrepancies and aids in establishing preventive actions to prevent further errors.
  • Aids in the direction of daily shipping, receiving, line replenishment, and manufacturing activities.
 
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling or planning
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and capacity planning
  • Technical Skills:
    • SAP R/3 experience is essential, including the Production Planning and Inventory Management modules. 
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Project, Office and other data analysis tools
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) principles
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across departments.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Certifications: APICS Certification (e.g., CPIM or CSCP) or PMP is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with periodic visits to the production floor.
  • May require occasional travel to suppliers or customer sites.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
  • Light physical activity, such as walking through the production area
