Equipment Maintenance Mechanic - Z Recyclers

Job Summary

Z Recyclers is seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing both light and heavy machinery, while also supporting special projects across our operations. This position is critical to ensuring our equipment runs efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on light and heavy equipment, including trucks, tractors, and trailers
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify issues and ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Utilize welding techniques to repair or fabricate parts as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts, fluids, and repair services
  • Collaborate with field service teams to resolve equipment issues at job sites
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of equipment maintenance experience
  • 3+ years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs
  • Welding skills for repair and fabrication work
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, and maintain accurate equipment records
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general electronic communication tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and stoop for extended periods (up to 10 hours)
