Position Overview
We are seeking a Field Network Technician to join our service team in the Austin, TX area. In this role, you will work directly with clients to install, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems and office technology solutions. This position requires a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to solve problems efficiently in a client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network connectivity, security systems, and Wi-Fi networks
- Provide support for Windows server environments and desktop operating systems
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site
- Collaborate with clients and vendors, translating technical concepts for non-technical users
- Lead client discovery conversations to assess needs and recommend solutions
- Document service activity, solutions, and recommendations clearly and accurately
- Travel locally to client sites as needed
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a network field technician or similar role
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, SMB, ports)
- Experience supporting Windows desktop environments and Microsoft applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proven problem-solving ability and strong initiative
- Valid driver�s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in managed IT services environments
- Familiarity with Mac OS systems
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Basic knowledge of VoIP systems
